Her story begins before she was even born. When Kinzo Ushiromiya accepted 10 tons of gold from Beatrice Castiglioni and made her his mistress, keeping her in a hidden manor and letting her be no more than a rumor to the others of his estate. That island he lived on with her and his family became the source of endless sin. Kinzo told a lie of wolves in the island's forest to deter his children from discovering Beatrice Castiglioni. Their love existed in a world between just the two of them. Thus, when she died during childbirth, Kinzo was driven mad. The child was raised in the hidden manor, a caged bird locked away from the world, by a select few trusted servants. She was given the name Beatrice Ushiromiya. As she grew up, she became a spitting image of her mother. So much so that Kinzo fell “in love” with her once more, and betrayed their relationship as a father and daughter by forcing himself on her. That is how she was born. And soon, her mother died from falling off a cliff. Having no mother and nowhere to stay, Kinzo offered her up to his daughter-in-law, who was struggling to conceive a child of her own. That woman, wrapped up in despair from being unable to meet the standards of a traditional wife, shoved the infant version of her and the servant who held her off a cliff. The servant died, but she survived.Regrettably, she survived. But she suffered severe lacerations to her abdomen and genital region. The family doctor attempted to repair her body, but was unable to restore everything. Thus, he performed reconstruction surgery against her will and it was decided that she would be raised as a girl. But with her now being raised as a woman, the servants feared that Kinzo would repeat the same crime on her. Thus, she was raised as an orphan and then recycled to become a servant herself at a very young age. Being a child among teenage servants, she was bullied by the ones who were called her peers. That was when she became fascinated with the legend of the witch “Beatrice”, a rumor spread by the inhabitants of the island. Beatrice was real in her mind; she helped her pull pranks and get revenge on those who bullied her. And, eventually, she became the image of the servant she always wished to be- taking on the name of “Shannon” instead of the dreaded “Yasu” everyone referred to her as. And, with newfound appreciation for herself, she fell in love with Battler Ushiromiya. The one who promised to save her from the island that tormented her, to rescue her when he returned.But he never did return. And when her body did not develop into the woman she wished to be, she was thrust back into the arms of despair. That was when she decided to live a double life as a man and woman. Kanon, the cynic. Shannon, the idealist. She was split apart and existed as two. And she tried to find love without Battler, taking to Jessica and George Ushiromiya as her two separate personas. Her fascination with Beatrice also only grew with time, and she was certainly someone she wished to become. But those loves could never last.Because, inevitably, she would discover the truth. On November 29th, she solved the riddle of her mother’s epitaph and was told the secrets of her horrific birth. She learned of her father. She learned that all her loves until now were sins. And as she grappled night after night with that truth, he learned that Battler Ushiromiya would return after six long years of absence. After failing to save her for six tortuous years. That was when it was decided that, on October 4th and 5th, he would kill all of them.She sent out message bottles of her imagined crimes to the sea, and executed her plan with the prayer that someone would figure out it was her and put a stop to things. And, inevitably, Battler was the one to discover her. After six long years, he saved her from the island. But she refused. When his back was turned, she threw herself into the ocean, attempting to end her life.... Yet, she awoke ashore against her will. It seems that the world itself refuses to let her die.
